In this project I designed my own original soda can and label. I decided to name the soda/energy drink Spiritual Balance, because I felt like going for a hippie good vibes style. I also named it this because Yin Yang represents balance and good being which is also considered spiritual and religious in some cultures like Taoism. I decided to include roses on this label because they happen to be my favorite flower and feel they just make everything look prettier. I chose the back round because it’s aesthetic and goes with the vibe of the soda can. I decided to make the Yin Yang and roses a teal/green color because that’s the complementary color to purple and it just makes the label pop more. I used the same barcode and nutrition label from the last soda can. I used all the same methods and techniques as before. I used a lot of color overlay, drop shadows, etc.

Summary:

In this project, to make this a 3D soda can, I used all the images above. I also made a color overlay for the raindrops on the label to be a yellowish color, as well as drop shadow, contour, bevel and emboss,  and outer glow.  I also used 3D soda can on photoshop to make the can itself and I did all the editing for the label on another tab.To make the image of the baseball player and the text on the label look legit, I had to transform and move them around a lot to get the right positioning. I also had to change the order of the layers to make it look like the soda can was on a wooden surface at a baseball game.

The goal of this project was to put my name on a brick back round in wooden 3D letters. To do this I used the first wood picture above as my layer for my name. Then, I used the second wood layer for my name as well, but I blended it with the first wood layer. I used the brick wall as the back round and I had to saturate it. And finally, I used the tree as a shadow for the back round and I also incorporated in the text layer as well. To make this project possible I had to make lots of different layers, add different types of shadows, and uses lots of different blurs.

These were two different types of shiny text that I made. I did the design one first then I did my name. I used the same techniques and tools for both of them.  I used the font forte for both of them as well. For this project, I had to use a lot of effects such as pattern overlay (that’s what I used the image of the trees for), Gradient, Outer Glow, Shadow Drop, etc.  I also used a lot of opacity stops which helped me get the color for the text.

The impossible creature I created is a combination of a panda and a panther. To blend the fur of the two creatures together, I used the brush tool, the eraser tool, and the clone stamp tool. I also used the clone stamp tool to get rid of the panther’s whiskers and I used the pen tool to replace the whiskers on the panda’s face. I would have to say the hardest part of this project was getting the exact shape of the ears to transfer over from the panda picture to create the impossible creature because I had to use the magnetic lasso to trace it and I had to be very slow and patient. But, overall I think this project was a success!

For this project I created an impossible creature that is a combination of a rabbit and a parrot. To make this look realistic, I had to transform the rabbit head (to make the proportions the same), then use the brush tool to blend the fur/ feathers of both creatures together. Another tool I used a lot was the clone stamp tool, which I used to get rid of the parrots beak. I also used to eraser tool to get rid of some of the extra fur and feathers. The final tool I used on this project was the pen stamp tool, which I used to add more whiskers on the face.
